Global demand for edible oils is expected to reach 87 million metric tons by 2026, up from 85 million in 2021. India is the top consumer, with 13.7 million metric tons. China, the US, and Brazil come in at numbers two, three, and four respectively. Togo saw a 4% year-on-year rise in demand, while Norway dropped 3% since 2017. Supply of edible oils is forecast to reach 233 million metric tons by 2026, up from 221 million in 2021. Indonesia is the leading producer, with 52 million metric tons. China, Malaysia, and the US are numbers two, three and four respectively. Bosnia and Herzegovina's production rose 15.4% year-on-year, while Belarus' dropped 4.8% since 2017.
