Fishing equipment imports in Suriname dropped 15 percent in 2021 compared to the previous year. The country's demand for such imports has been decreasing steadily since 2000, with a decrease of 11.5 percent annually. Suriname stood at number 118 in the fishing equipment import rankings for 2021, overtaken by Saint Lucia. Japan, South Korea and Singapore were the top three countries in the rankings.
