Consumption of alcoholic drinks in Ghana is set to reach nearly 50,000 tonnes by 2026. In 2021, this figure stood at 38,000 tonnes, representing a year-on-year growth rate of 4.3%. Since 2017, demand has risen by 5.9%. Ghana was the 39th biggest consumer of alcoholic drinks in 2021, with Indonesia overtaking them to reach 38,000 tonnes. India, Japan and Russia were the 2nd, 3rd and 4th biggest consumers respectively. Exports of alcoholic drinks from Ghana fell slightly in 2018, totalling $39.9 million. This was down 2.6% from the previous year's figure of $40.9 million. Since 2001, exports decreased by 4.8% year on year.
