Egypt is set to consume 6.1 million metric tons of maize in 2026, a 0.3% increase from 2021 when it consumed 5.96 million metric tons. Since 2017, the demand for maize in Egypt has increased by 0.3% year on year. In 2021, the country was the 8th largest consumer of maize, with Brazil taking the lead at 5.96 million metric tons. India, China and Indonesia ranked number 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptian maize production is set to reach 6.9 million metric tons by 2026, a 0.2% decrease from 2021 when it produced 6.98 million metric tons. Since 1966, Egyptian maize supply has decreased by 2.2% year on year. In 2021, the country ranked at number 20, with Serbia taking the lead at 6.98 million metric tons. China, Brazil and Argentina ranked number 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
