Malaysia's defence expenditure is set to dip slightly in 2026, falling 0.4% year on year. Last year, the country placed 45th in the world rankings, with Finland coming in ahead at $3.6 billion. China, India and Russia respectively followed in at 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. Since 1965, defence spending in Malaysia has decreased by 3% year on year.
