Gambian livestock production is expected to reach around 330,000 heads by 2026, up 0.5% each year on average since 1966, according to the latest figures. In 2021, the country was ranked 145, with Jamaica ahead at 318,600 heads. Brazil, India and the United States were number two, three and four respectively. Meanwhile, Gambian livestock imports are forecast to drop 12.6% annually to around $8,830 by 2026. Since 2000, the demand has decreased by 15.8% per year. In 2021, Gambia was ranked 138, with the Solomon Islands overtaking with $18,940. Germany, Italy and the Netherlands were second, third and fourth respectively.
