Belgian apparel sales are set to dip by around €134 million over the next five years, falling from €521.5 million in 2021 to €387.2 million in 2026. This decline of 5.3% year-on-year is slightly higher than the 5.9% decrease since 2010. Belgium was the 15th biggest market for apparel sales in 2021, behind Finland, which had €521.5 million in sales. Germany, France and Spain were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Meanwhile, expenditure on clothing in Belgium is expected to rise to €8,460 million by 2026 from €7,860 million in 2021, a year-on-year growth rate of 0.4%. Since 2000, demand has been on a downward trend, amounting to a 1.6% year-on-year decline. In 2021, Belgium was the 8th largest market for clothing, overtaken by Poland with €7,860 million in sales. Germany, Italy and France were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
