This is a slight increase of 0.3% per year since 2021, when the country imported 124.56 million metric tons. Since 2005, Germany’s demand for metal has grown at a steady rate of 0.2% each year. In 2021, the country ranked fourth in the world for metal imports, behind South Korea, Japan, and China. South Korea led the pack with 124.56 million metric tons, followed by Japan and Germany.
