French footwear sales are taking a hit. According to the most recent figures, sales of shoes in the country are expected to reach €141.4 million by 2026, a 16.8% decrease from 2021's €361 million. Over the last eight years, the market has declined by 14.7%. In 2021, France was the 11th-largest footwear market, with Slovakia leading the pack with €361 million. Spain, Portugal and Germany followed at numbers 2, 3, and 4, respectively.
