Finnish tobacco consumption is set to drop over the next five years. From 11.7 percent of persons aged 15 and over who are daily smokers in 2021, it is expected to reach 9.4 percent by 2026. This is an average decrease of 3.8 points year on year. Since 1983, the number of smokers in Finland has decreased by 4.9 points year on year. In 2021, Finland ranked 27th in the world for daily smokers, with Portugal in the lead at 11.7 percent. Russia, Greece and Hungary made up the top four.
