India overtook Russia in 2021 when its energy consumption reached 31.3 exajoules. The United States, India and Russia ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. According to the latest data, the country's energy supply is expected to reach 750.58 million tonnes of oil equivalent in 2026, up 0.3% year-on-year on average. This is an increase of 0.2% since 1995. India overtook Russia in 2021 when its energy supply reached 720.82 million tonnes of oil equivalent. The United States, India and Russia ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
