Korean energy consumption is set to reach 13.4 exajoules by 2026, up 0.9% year on year, according to a recent report. Since 1970, energy demand has grown at a rate of 0.4% year on year. Korea ranked eighth in 2021, with Brazil overtaking it with 12.6 exajoules. Meanwhile, the US, India, and Russia ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Korean energy supply is set to reach 284 million tonnes of oil equivalent by 2026, growing 0.6% year on year. Since 1976, supply has fallen by 1.1% year on year. In 2021, Korea ranked ninth, with Germany overtaking it with 267.8 million tonnes of oil equivalent. The US, India, and Russia ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
