Korea is the eighth largest consumer of alcoholic drinks in 2021, behind the Philippines. India, Japan, and Russia were the second, third, and fourth largest consumers, respectively. Korean consumption of alcoholic drinks is set to reach 301,420 metric tons in 2026, a 0.6% year-on-year increase from the 291,000 metric tons consumed in 2021. Since 2017, consumption has decreased by 0.1% annually. Korean exports of alcoholic drinks are expected to reach $1.14 billion by 2026, a 2.5% year-on-year increase from the $980 million exported in 2021. Since 1993, exports have grown by 4.5% year-on-year.
