Coffee consumption in Brazil is expected to reach 1.9 million metric tons by 2026, up 4.7% from 1.43 million tons in 2021. The U.S. was the leading consumer in 2021, with 1.43 million tons. Brazil, Germany and Japan followed, in that order. Meanwhile, Brazilian coffee production is projected to increase 1.5% annually, from 64.09 million 60-kilogram bags in 2021 to 69.86 million bags by 2026. Since 1995, the country's production has grown by 2.5% each year. Vietnam, Colombia and Indonesia were the next-largest producers.
