Italian nut consumption is set to reach 540,000 tons by 2026, according to a new report. This is up from 507,000 tons in 2021, representing an average annual growth of 1.1%. Since 2017, Italian demand for nuts has increased 1.3% a year. In 2021, Italy came in sixth place, overtaken by Iran with 507,000 tons. Vietnam, India and the United States took the top three spots in the ranking. Italian nut production is also set to increase, reaching 324,100 tons by 2026. This is up from 299,000 tons in 2021, representing an average annual growth of 1.4%. Since 2017, Italian nut production has increased 1.7% a year. In 2021, Mexico overtook Italy in tenth place with 299,000 tons. The United States, Vietnam and India took the top three spots in the ranking.
